Notts County

TEAM:Notts County

GROUND:Meadow Lane

FIRST VISIT:29th September 2007

FIRST MATCH:Notts County 1-0 Chesterfield

On the 29th September 2007 I visited the home of the oldest football league club in the world, Notts County’s Meadow Lane to watch them play Chesterfield. It was lovely sunny day and I had a great time. I went to Chesterfield in the morning to catch the supporters coach to Nottingham. At Chesterfield I managed to meet several of the players and got my picture taken with them.

The ground was very nice and could easily be good enough for the Championship, however the match itself wasn’t as good (for me anyway!) as Chesterfield lost 1-0 with the only goal coming from Stephen Hunt on 21 minutes. The attendance for the game was 5,757.

I have since visited for a quick look around, once during a ‘groundhop’ and then before going to watch nearby Nottingham Forest.
