FIRST MATCH:Accrington Stanley 2-0 Chesterfield (01/05/10)
My only visit to the Crown Ground was on 1st May 2010 when I went to watch Chesterfield play in their last away game of the 2009/10 season. It was a lovely day and with Accrington Stanley being a classic old club it didn’t take much to decide that we would make the short journey to Lancashire. The ground wasn’t the best even for League 2, but the fans were very friendly and I do have a soft spot for Accrington. Sadly, the 2-0 defeat ended any lingering hope of the Spireites reaching the play offs, but it was still an excellent day out.
