TEAM:York City
GROUND:Bootham Cresent
FIRST VISIT:29th March 2008
I decided to go to watch York City v Ebbsfleet today as it was a ground I had yet to visit.I have been to York on quite a number of occasions though and it is a really nice city. The day started out really bright and sunny and after a couple of hours in York city centre I made my way up to Bootham Crescent to have a good look around the ground and take some photos.I was pleased to find that today children were free on the York “Kop” end. However we did pay the extra £1 to transfer to the centre stand as it was getting very cold and wet.The game was poor with hardly a shot on target. The ground though is a good old English football ground with standing behind both goals.Incidentally todays guest of the club was an ex York player called Jimmy Seal who 33 years ago today scored in York City’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford in front of the highest league attendance that York have played in front of.Well they lost again today…but at home to Ebbsfleet. How times change.
