TEAM: West Ham United
GROUND: Upton Park
FIRST VISIT: 27th March 2011
FIRST MATCH: N/A
The 9th and final ground of the London tour was Upton Park, home of West Ham United. We pulled up and had pictures outside the ground, by the gates and by the large turrets that make the outside of the stadium look impressive. We then went over to the statue of West Ham’s 1966 World Cup Winners, Bobby Moore, Martin Peters, Geoff Hurst which also features Ray Wilson. My Dad was especially excited to visit the statue, as he has a big interest in the 1966 World Cup and has met almost all of the World Cup winning team from that year many times.
It was now 7pm with the light fading. We decided to head off back home to Sheffield after a day I will always remember.
