On Saturday 12th December I met professional darts player Peter ‘One Dart’ Manley.
Peter Manley is a professional darts player who currently plays on the PDC tour. ‘One Darts’ biggest achievements in his career are being runner-up in the world championship in 1999, 2002 and 2006, each time losing to Phil Taylor. His only ranking event win came in 2003 when he beat John Part 16-12 in the final of the Las Vegas Desert Classic. However his form has gone downhill in recent years and he has fallen to 20th in the PDC order of merit.
I met him in a newly opened Betfred shop where he was doing an exhibition. I could not go into the shop as I am too young but my Dad got Peter Manley to come outside and have a photo with me.
Lots of people were taking Peter on in a challenge where he had to score more with 3 darts than the challenger did with 6 darts. My Dad took him on and score 90 in his first go. Peter stepped up but only scored 45 so my Dad had beaten him. He was only the fourth person to beat him in the whole day.
