Tramlines Festival 2014

TRAMLINES

Tramlines is a music festival that has been hosted in Sheffield annually since 2009. The event takes place across multiple venues around the city, including The Leadmill, Corporation, the main stage at Devonshire Green and many others. A former UK Festival award winner, July 22nd and 23rd of this year’s 3-day festival saw my first visit to my hometown’s biggest music event.

Meeting Oli Sykes – Bring Me The Horizon

On Saturday 12th July, I met Oli Sykes the lead vocalist of the band Bring Me The Horizon. By pure chance, I happened to be in the same park as the 27 year old who front’s one of Sheffield’s biggest bands. He was very friendly and happy to pose for the photo above. His band BMTH formed in 2004 and have released 5 albums, the most recent of which is titled ‘Sempiternal’. The group recently returned from a North American Tour alongside ‘Of Mice and Men’ and are preparing to play Wembley Arena for the first time in December.

Take The Seven – Live at the O2 Academy, Sheffield

Take The Seven are one of the most popular bands in the local Sheffield music scene. Hailing from nearby Chesterfield, the five piece consists of Dan Molloy (vocals), Si Redfern (guitar), James Hall (guitar), Joe Kitson (bass) and Gaz Oldale (drums) who create an exciting and memorable sound.

Defeater – Live at Corporation, Sheffield

Defeater put on a truly brilliant show on the fourth night of their European Tour at Sheffield’s Corporation. Alongside support from ‘Goodtime Boys’, ‘More Than Life’ and the outstanding ‘Caspian’, the five piece from Boston, Massachusetts blew the rapturous crowd away with their performance on an unforgettable night.
