Chesterfield 3-1 Crewe Alexandra – League 1

Chesterfield-born Connor Dimaio scored on his Spireites home debut to help Chesterfield to a 3-1 victory over fellow strugglers Crewe Alexandra.

The hosts got off to a perfect start with two goals in the opening twelve minutes from attacking duo Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Lee Novak.

Zoumana Bakayogo pulled one back for Crewe shortly before the half-hour, but Dimaio’s dream moment early in the second half regained the two-goal advantage and earned the Spireites only their fourth home win of the season.

King Charles – Live at The Leadmill, Sheffield

King Charles thrilled a large crowd at Sheffield’s Leadmill on the second night of his UK tour following the release of his new album ‘Gamble For A Rose’.

Supported by the entertaining Ryan O’Reilly, who was performing his first ever show in the steel city, the 30-year-old singer-songwriter headlined with a memorable performance that included new tracks including the album’s title track and ‘Loose Change For Boatman’, as well as past material that got the crowd going including ‘Bam Bam’ and ‘Love Lust’ – which ended the set on a high.

Bowling For Soup – Live at the O2 Academy, Sheffield + Interview

Two and a half years after bidding farewell to the UK, Bowling For Soup were back in Sheffield for another round! With hits including ‘Emily’, ‘1985’, ‘High School Never Ends’ and ‘Girl All The Bad Guys Want’ mixed with non-stop joking around, the band performed an incredibly memorable performance than the Steel City crowd won’t be forgetting any time soon!

I sat down with bassist Erik Chandler before the band headlined the O2 Academy to find out why they decided to come back and more about this hugely popular band.

Chesterfield 0-1 Peterborough United – League 1

Tom Nichols’ debut goal earned nine-man Peterborough United victory over Chesterfield on a dramatic afternoon at the Proact Stadium.

After a goalless and hard-fought first half, Nichols poked home the opener in the 55th minute. Just three minutes later, hopes of a Spireites comeback were improved when Michael Smith was shown a second yellow card.

But despite all the home pressure, and further depletion for the Posh when Ricardo Santos was sent off, the visitors managed to desperately cling on for all three points on another miserable afternoon for Chesterfield.
