Welcome to my sixth Q&A with stars of the Snooker world.

Up and coming star Martin Gould is the latest player to be interviewed by ryan147.com. Martin ended last season ranked 46th in the world rankings and starts the 2009/10 season ranked 37th on the one year list. Unfortuanetly he didnt get off to the best of starts this season losing 5-3 to Gerard Greene in the final round of qualifying for the Shanghai Masters despite beating Peter Lines 5-0 in the round before.
Martin Gould really made a break through last season. It was Martin’s first season back on the tour which he had qualified for by winning the English Amatuer Championship and he qualified for 3 final stages of events. His first appearance in the final stages came in the UK Championship in which he met eventual champion Shaun Murphy in the first round and lost 9-7.
His biggest win came at the Welsh Open final stages where Martin beat 7 times world champion Stephen Hendry 5-3 to reach the last 16. Despite losing to Joe Swail in round 2, this was a real confidence boost for Martin who went on to qualify for the World Championship at Sheffield by beating Rodney Goggins, David Gilbert and Matthew Stevens.
Sadly Martin’s debut at the Crucible turned out to be a disappointing one losing in the first round to Mark Allen 10-6. However Martin had a great season and looks like a great prospect for the future.

Welcome to my fifth Q&A with stars of the Snooker world.

Ricky Walden is the latest snooker star to be interviewed on ryan147.com. Currently ranked 20th in the world officially, Ricky has a great chance of breaking into the top 16 for the first chance in his career this season starting 12th on the one year list.
Ricky also goes into the Shanghai Masters, which begins on monday, as the number one seed after winning the event last season. Ricky beat 2 former world champions, and 2 other players inside the top 16 to reach the final against Ronnie O’Sullivan. Then Ricky caused probably the shcok of the season by beating Ronnie 10-8 in a thrilling final.
Ricky has also won 3 invitational tournaments in the last year, winning the 2008 Belgian Open, 2008 Sangsom Six Red Event and more recently the 2009 General Cup held in China.

Welcome to my fourth Q&A with stars of the Snooker world.

Current World Number 67 Matt Selt is the latest snooker star to be interviewed on ryan147.com. Matt reached the quarter finals of the recent pro challenge by beating Mark Boyle, Barry Pinches and Robert Milkins (all 4-2) before losing to Alan McManus 4-1. Matt got back on the main tour in 2007 via the PIOS and his best ranking performance to date came in the 2008 Welsh Open where he reached the last 48 stage.

I was back at the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds today with Matt. This time it was to watch the first Pro Challenge event introduced by World Snooker this season.
Welcome to my third Q&A with stars of the Snooker world.

Straight from winning the Paul Hunter English Open in Leeds Stuart Bingham is third to be interviewed on ryan147.com. The current world number 21 beat Simon Bedford 6-0 in the final of the English Open but only won five matches in all of the 2008/09 season. However he did qualify for the World Championship beating Alan McManus in the final qualifying round before losing to Ronnie O’Sullivan 10-5.
