On Monday 16th July 2012 I went to the oldest football ground in the world, Sandygate, to watch Hallam FC play Manchester City Under 18’s in a Pre Season Friendly match.

From 12th May to 20th June 2012 we have returned to Saltergate a number of times to take photographs of the on going demolition of Chesterfield’s former home. The Spireites played at Saltergate for 139 years before leaving in 2010 and sadly now the ground is almost gone forever. You can see more photos below.

On Sunday 6th May 2012 I was at the Crucible Theatre for the second session of the World Snooker Championship Final between Ronnie O’Sullivan and Ali Carter.
On Monday 7th May, we returned between the afternoon and evening sessions to say goodbye to our Snooker friends for another year.

On Monday 7th May my Dad visited Saltergate, the former home of Chesterfield FC, to see the continued demolition of the ground. The difference is clearly visible now with the Main Stand now nothing but a shell and the roof of the Kop has been removed. It won’t be long now until there is nothing left of the place that the Spireites played for 139 years.

On Saturday 5th May I went to the B2Net Stadium to watch the final game of the 2011/12 season between already relegated Chesterfield and Brentford.

On Friday 27th April my Dad went down to the Crucible for a drink with some of the Snooker regulars and also a few of the referees. Then on Saturday 28th March we returned to have a wander around and chat to a few people we know. You can see the photos from day 7 and 8 of the World Championship below.

On Thursday 26th April I returned to the Crucible Theatre for Day 6 of the World Snooker Championship.
