Chesterfield FC – A Look Back at a League 2 Title Winning Season (Part 1)
As a Chesterfield supporter, the 2010-11 season has been one that I will never forget. After leaving Saltergate and moving to our new home of the B2Net Stadium, I knew that it would be an exciting time to be a Spireite, but the way the season has gone it has surpassed mine and everyone else’s expectations.
Chesterfield 2-1 Northampton Town – League 2
On Tuesday 8th March 2011 I was back at the B2Net Stadium to watch Chesterfield face Northampton Town.
Chesterfield 1-2 Burton Albion – League 2
On Saturday 13th November I went to the B2Net Stadium to watch Chesterfield face Paul Peschisolido’s Burton Albion.
Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Chesterfield (8-7 pens) – JPT Round 2
On Wednesday 6th October I went to Hillsborough to watch Chesterfield face Sheffield Wednesday in the 2nd round of the Johnstones Paint Trophy.
Chesterfield 2-1 Barnet – League 2 – 1st Match at the B2Net Stadium
On Saturday 7th August I went to watch Chesterfield play Barnet in the first ever league match at the new B2Net Stadium.
A Visit to Chesterfield’s New Home
On 17th July 2010 I visited the newly completed B2Net Stadium. It will be the new home of Chesterfield FC after they left Saltergate at the end of last season.

Chesterfield 2-1 Bournemouth – League 2 – The Last Game at Saltergate
After 10 years for me, 33 years for my Dad and 139 years in total, the final countdown on Chesterfield’s home of Saltergate finally reached zero. Chesterfield’s game against Bournemouth was the last game ever to be played at Saltergate, before the side move to the B2net stadium next season.We took plenty of photos on this brilliant, yet sad day.
